ABOUT ME

Fascinating As I Am
I'm a working artist and art educator. I received my Fine Arts degree from University of Georgia in Athens, 1978.
In 1998, I received my Art Ed. degree from Kennesaw State University. I taught elementary art in Cobb County, Georgia for 20 years, retiring in June of 2018.
My mission is to create a safe space for children and adults to explore and experiment, and not be afraid to make "mistakes". As an art educator, I want my students to have the opportunity to explore as many different art mediums as possible. In the summer, I hold kids art camps at my home studio. It's a unique experience for a child to see a real working artist's studio.
In my own art, I like to explore many different mediums.
My favorite is slab built ceramic sculpture.
My other passion is women's soul work. I create and facilitate women's workshops and weekend retreats.
You will find more about that here: Sage Soul Sisters.
Interested in art parties, camps, and classes? You will find more about that and my journey as an art educator here: Ms. Julia's Art Studio, LLC.
